Wesley G. McGarrigle

Wesley McGarrigle, 80, of St. Stephen, NB, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at the Charlotte County Hospital St. Stephen, NB.

Born to the late James and Syritha McGarrigle and raised in Black’s Harbour, NB, one of twelve children.

He was a dedicated worker for many years at Connors Brothers in Back Bay and Black’s Harbour, where he retired as a tenured employee.

Wesley was married to Pamela J. Kennedy Patterson in September of 1989 and moved to St. Stephen.  He readily embraced the role of stepfather to; Toni, Todd, and Jody; and their spouses; Chris, Jason and Nancy.  He subsequently became a beloved grandfather to; Nicholas, Hunter, Kalee, Rhiannon and great-grandfather to; Elaina, Hunter, Emma Jean, Nova Lee and Kennedy.

Together, Wesley and Pam created extensive gardens on their property, both vegetables and flowers.  He enjoyed wreath making and woodworking, creating birdhouses and decorative items in a folk-art style.

Wesley was a lover of baseball, particularly the Red Sox.  He enjoyed history and politics, and walking in nature; hunting and riding his ATV through the woods of Charlotte County. Wesley was a good friend to many and a dedicated congregant of Gateway Cathedral.

In addition to his wife, stepchildren, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he is survived by his brother; Gerald of Blacks Harbour, NB.

He was predeceased by his parents, siblings; Mary, Lorne, Jimmy, Florence, Doris, Billy, Emma, Kenny, Everett and Linda.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 1pm at Gateway Cathedral, 18 West Street St Stephen, NB, followed by the funeral service at 2pm.

Interment will follow the service at St Stephen Rural Cemetery St Stephen, NB.
