Webber A. Burns

1936 - 2026

Webber A. Burns passed away on Saturday March 14, 2026, in St Stephen, New Brunswick.

Born in 1936, he is the son of the late Stephen “Webber S.” and Jean Burns.

Webber began his career in education as a high school teacher in New Brunswick before moving to Thompson, Manitoba, teaching and then he built a long career with INCO, the nickel mine, eventually serving as Director of Labour Relations.

He found peace fishing along rocky shorelines and cherished summers at the family cottage on Setting Lake.  Webber had a keen interest in technology, including ham radio and satellite systems.  He enjoyed music from Elvis, Johnny Cash, and Roy Orbison.  Known for his political views and business interests, he also appreciated a strong black coffee or a Southern Comfort at the end of a long week.

Following retirement, Webber returned to St. Stephen, New Brunswick, where he enjoyed a quieter life with his loyal sheltie, Shadow.

He is survived by his children and will be remembered by those who knew him in his best moments.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Wayne.

There will be no visitation.

A graveside service will be held at the Milltown Roman Catholic Cemetery, Barter Settlement, NB, at which a time and date will be announced.
