GILLMOR: The death of Susan G. Gillmor occurred at the Charlotte County Hospital on Sunday, October 5, 2008 after a long illness. Susan was the daughter of Rita and the late Robert Maunder. As well as her mother she is survived by her husband, Allan and seven children as well as grandchildren and one foster daughter. Her children are Gillian, Gregory, Anna and her husband Howard Emerson and their daughter Grace, Mark and his partner Jenna and their son Nathan, Monica, Christina and Charlotte. Her foster daughter Margie (Lee) Snell and her husband Tim and their children Matthew and Jonathan. She also is survived by two brothers, Tony and Stephen and his wife Wilma and their children Justin, Brandon and Denica and a sister Doreen.Susan was a graduate of New Brunswick Teacher’s College and came to St. Stephen to teach at the St. Stephen Junior/Senior High School in 1967. After her marriage in 1971 she stayed at home caring for her own children as well as many others from the community, operating a home daycare.Susan was involved with many groups in the community, serving as President of the Charlotte County Diabetes Association and President of the St. Croix Skating Club. She served as a member of Holy Rosary Parish Council and taught Sunday School for many years. She was a member of Holy Rosary C.W.L. and the Atlantic Charter Chapter of the I.O.D.E. Susan will be sadly missed by her family and the community.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Rosary Church at 11 AM on Thursday October 9, 2008.Visiting hours will be held at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, NB on Wednesday October 8, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Charlotte County Cancer Society, Extra Mural or the Charlotte County Hospital would be appreciated by the family.Condolences to the family may be made online at mehanfuneralhome.ca
