1932 - 2011
TOWNES - Jan 29, 1932 to Oct 2, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB, Samuel Hartley Townes. Following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was husband of the late Marion Marie (McLaughlin) Townes and the son of the late Hazen and Flora (Scott) Townes. Survived by brothers: Arthur (Sylvia) Townes, Wallace (Pauline) Townes, Carson (Hilda) Townes, Hazen (Rose) Townes. Sisters: Inez Beney, Margaret McLaughlin (Charlie), Jacqueline Golden (David). Several nieces and nephews, and cousins. Also, his devoted niece, Tina Golden, and a special friend, Elva Scott.
Sam was predeceased by his parents, wife and son Mark and a special friend Greta Beck.
Resting at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home, St. Stephen, NB from where the funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. . Visiting hours will be held at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, Oct 5 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Interment at Moores Mills Rural Cemetery, Moores Mills, NB.
