Ruth M Dempsey

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of our mother, Ruth M. Dempsey, who left us on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the age of 101.

Born in 1923, daughter of the late Johnson and Emma Logan. Ruth lived most of her life in Tower Hill, N.B.  and her last eight years residing at Lincourt Manor, St. Stephen, N.B.

Ruth is survived by her sister Phyllis Lord, six children: Galen Dempsey (Janet), Sharon Pierce (Richard), Dennis Dempsey, Patricia "Patsy" Colpitts (Wayne), Terry Dempsey (Ada) and Marsha McDougall (Blair), niece, Mary K. Brown, twenty-two grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren, thirteen great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Jack, two grandchildren, Billy Joe Davis and Dale Dunn, one brother, Andrew Logan, three sisters, Irene Woodard, Mary Brown and Edith McRae.

Funeral service will be held at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B. on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 2 PM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 – 1:45 PM.
