Ruth I. Corbett ** Link posted

1929 - 2022

Ruth I. (McCarthy) Corbett was born in 1929. The third of seven children, she lived her entire life in her hometown of St. Andrews, N.B.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was predeceased by husband Hubert, son Frank, daughter-in-law Mary, five sisters and one brother.

She is survived by sons, Hubert Jr. (Amanda), and Greg (Valerie); grandchildren, Cheryl (Ryan), Will (Danielle), Joanne (Stephane), Denise, Nancy, Amy (Julien), Tanya (Gaston), Matthew, Rachel (Stephen) and Christine; nine great grandsons, seven great granddaughters, one great great grandson, special nieces, Sandra and Heather and many good friends.

Ruth married the love of her life, Hubert in 1947 and began her family. Her greatest joy was raising their three sons in her Water Street home where she lived for 73 years until her passing. A close second was spending weekends with family and friends at their Gibson Lake Camp.

She loved bragging about her grand and great grandchildren, ferry rides to Deer Island with picnic lunches and "shopping" trips to Bangor. Even in advanced years she could shop rings around the rest of the family. She enjoyed travelling, taking bus tours with Hubert and friends, art classes and painting and curling with the Heather Curling Club.

Ruth was a lifetime member of St. Andrews’ Catholic Church, occupying her family’s pew for most of her 92 years. She was a longstanding member of the RCL Ladies Auxiliary and Sunbury Shores Art Center.

She loved her door yard, planning flower gardens for Hubert to build and weed and his yellow rose bush at the front of the house was her absolute pride and joy.

She will be missed
