Roy Kenneth Young

1923 - 2003

Roy Kenneth Young passed away suddenly on August 21, 2003 in Calais, Maine.

He was born Sept 28, 1923 in Oak Bay, NB. The son of the Late William and Bessie (Berry) Young. After a tour of duty with the Royal Canadian Navy, Ken spent the remaining years in Oak Bay. He was employed by the Ganong's Candy Factory for many years. He was a member for the Baptist Church of Oak Bay. He was devoted to his many pets through the years.

He is survived by two nephews, Paul and wife Madeline Duchesneau of Oak Bay, Robert and wife Annette Duchesneau of New Hampshire, three nieces, Janet and husband James Ott of Nova Scotia, Pauline and husband Franklin Sadler of Woodland, Maine, Rose Marie and husband Larry MacDonald of the Yukon, one brother-in-law, Leo Duchesneau of Oak Bay. He is also survived by numerous cousins and great nephews and nieces.

Predeceased by his parents, two sisters, Myna Duchesneau and Mildred Young and one brother, Douglas Young.

Rested at the S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd, 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, NB (506-466-1844) from where funeral service was held on Monday August 25, 2003 at 11 AM with Rev. Philip Anderson officiating.

Interment at Oak Bay Rural Cemetery.
