Robert S. Nason

It is with great sadness the family announce the unexpected passing of Robert "Bob" S. Nason on Tuesday July 2, 2024, at Meddybemps Lake, Maine.

Born in St. Stephen, N.B., son of the late Sam and Nellie Nason.

Bob spent untold hours in his younger years, driving a moving van for United Van Lines out of Portland, Maine.  In 1975, Linda and Bob moved to Las Vegas, NV where he continued in his trucking career until his retirement. 

In his heart, St Stephen, NB was his home, and he always made his way back to see his family.  Later in life, Bob and Linda purchased their dream cottage on the lake off Route #9 in Alexander, Maine.  Bob, Linda and their beloved dog, Waco, would walk the lake road everyday, enjoying the woods and nature. Bob usually could then be found puttering around the cottage and sitting in his favourite chair outside, looking at the lake, bird watching and enjoying all the sights.  The cottage was his happy place, and he was anxious to return every June after spending the winters in Las Vegas.

Bob is survived by his life partner of over 49 years, Linda Jones, mother-in-law, Marguerite Jones, nephew, David Holder (Paulette), niece, Maryann Holder, one great niece, Paige Dinsmore and special cousins, Peter Jones (Heather), Diane Comeau (Shawn) and their families.

In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by sisters, Natalie Nason and Beverley Richards and brother, Jerome Nason.

Resting at The S.O. Mehan and Son Funeral Home Ltd, 23 Main Street, St Stephen, NB, where the funeral service will take place on Monday, July 8, 2024 at 2 PM.  Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1-2 PM.

Interment will be at the St Stephen Rural Cemetery, St Stephen, N.B.
