River McLay

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our precious son, River McLay, on Friday September 4, 2026, at the IWK Children’s Hospital Halifax, NS, son of Shane McLay and Josephine Crossman, of Moores Mills, NB.

Survived by his parents, siblings; Emma, Brian, Gracie, Leah, Kempton and Hunter, his best friend; Marble, his orange cat, grandfather; Brian Crossman, aunts; Amanda Greenlaw, Jennifer Crossman, uncle; Tyrone McLay and several cousins.

River is predeceased by his grandparents; Norman and Barb Gower (McLay), maternal grandmother; Sharon Crossman and uncles; Asher McLay and Faron McLay.

Resting at The S.O. Mehan and Son Funeral Home Ltd, 23 Main Street St Stephen, NB from where words of remembrance will be shared on Thursday September 10, 2026, at 6 pm.

Family will receive friends on Thursday September 10, 2026, at 4 pm until service time.

River’s favorite color is orange.  The family have asked, if you have orange, please honor him with his favorite color.
