It is with deep sorrow the family announces the passing of Richard E. Armstrong at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B on October 15, 2026 surrounded by his family.
Born in St. Stephen to the late Dorothy (Preston) and Everett Armstrong, Richard spent his early years locally before moving to Little Ridge and eventually settling in Burnt Hill. Over his lifetime, he took great pride in a wide variety of hard work, including mill and woods work, candy making, wrecker and plowing services, and working on vehicles. A passionate fan of Chevy trucks, Dick was known for his high standards and ensuring every job was done to perfection. He shared his love for the outdoors, four-wheeling, country drives, and visiting State Fairs with his sons.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years (52 together), Wanda (Milligan); his sons, Adam (Matthew) Armstrong and Richard Cody “Ricky” (Shania) Armstrong; and his sister, Linda Armstrong. He also leaves behind his nieces, Sherri Lynn and Amanda; his nephew, Joseph McFarlane; and his five grandchildren, Trinity, Madelynne, Malaki, Serenity, and Mylio, who were the absolute light of his life.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his sister, Suzanne; his brother-in-law, Donnie Sears; his niece, Samantha Brown; and his nephew, Scott Miller. He will be joyfully reunited with his special dogs, Dakota and Tango.
Honoring Richard's wishes, there will be no funeral service or visitation. Interment will take place at the Pomeroy Ridge Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Richard to the Charlotte County SPCA, Volunteer Centre of St. Stephen or a charity of one’s choice. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.mehanfuneralhome.ca
