MATTHEWS- At Calais Regional Hospital, Calais, Me, December 13, 2008, Phillip John Matthews of Calais, Me. He was the husband of Mary Patricia Matthews and son of the late Stewart Leroy and Kathleen Vivian (Tucker) Matthews.Survived by his wife, 3 daughters, Shelley (Charles) Doomer of New Jersey, Kathy Shriver (Robert) of Philadelphia, Margaret Verespy (Philip) of Pine Hill, New Jersey, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, William Matthews(Wanda) of Saint John, NB, Paul Matthews(Gail) of Scarborough, ON., sister, Pauline Foote(Glenn) of Peterborough, ON., several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother James Matthews and sister, Margaret Sullivan.There will be no visitation by request. A Memorial service will be held at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, NB on Wednesday December 17, 2008 at 2 PMIn lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or charity of ones choice would be appreciated by the family.
