Patricia Ann Eagan

EAGAN- Ms Patricia A. Eagan passed away on March 20, 2009 at the Aroostook Health Center, Mars Hill, Maine. She was the daughter of the late Sylvester P. Eagan and Kathleen Purcell. She was born in St. Stephen, NB Canada on March 27, 1930.Patricia graduated from nursing at the Mercy Hospital in Portland, Maine. She later attended St. Joseph’s College, North Windham, Maine; completed a course in home care at Montifiore Hospital, Bronx, NY; attended Forham University in NYC and took various other courses from different universities throughout the USA. She received a Masters Degree from Boston University, Boston MA. During her long career in nursing, Patricia worked as a Staff nurse, Supervisor, Administrator, Assistant Professor, Consultant and Project Director for several federally sponsored health care related projects. Her most recent position from which she retired was as Coordinator and Instructor at the Jefferson School of Nursing in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Over the years Patricia was active in several nursing organizations, social causes and various community services.She is survived by her sisters, Ruth L. Eagan of Perth Andover, NB and Elaine T. Fitzgerald (Herb) of Manchester, NH; her brothers, David M Eagan (Sharon) of Perth Andover, NB and J. Philip Eagan Of Dartmouth, NS. She was predeceased by a brother, S. Jerome Eagan.Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Stephens Catholic Church, Milltown Blvd., St. Stephen, NB on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 11 AM. Visiting hours will be held at The S.O.Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, NB on Monday, March 23, 2009 from 7-9 PM. Interment in Milltown Catholic Cemetery, St. Stephen, NB.For those who wish Donations to the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
