Nancy Verrall Warren

1952 - 2025

It's with overwhelming grief that we announce the passing of our mother, sister, friend, and whip-smart wordsmith, Nancy Verrall Warren.

Born in Vancouver, BC to Lucille and Robert Verrall, Nancy was the second of four daughters. She grew up in Metz, France and Milton, ON, and after settling in Ottawa in the '70s, Nancy ultimately spent her life writing and editing for myriad clients around the world, collecting passport stamps and lifelong friends as she furthered her incredible career. She spent her final years on the shores of the Atlantic, happy to be entrenched in community in St. Stephen and St. Andrews, NB.

Nancy is predeceased by her parents, sisters Patricia and Louise, and numerous dear cousins, aunts and uncles. She is survived by her sister, Lorraine; her three children, Sandy, Ashley, and Jenessa; her five grandchildren, Hattie, Pearl, Ara, Alistair, and Vivian; her nieces, Shannon, Valerie, and Laura; and her nephew, Ryan. So too is she survived by more beloved friends and chosen family members than we could ever begin to name.

Nancy was so loved throughout her 72 years on this earth, and what we're left with now are tender imprints of her witty, adventurous self in cities like Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa, Guelph, Dartmouth, Saint Paul, Sydney, and Nairobi.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Alzheimer's Society, and take an evening to raise your glass to our cherished Nankumpoop over a riveting game of Scrabble. Poof! She's gone, and nothing will ever be quite the same.

A celebration of her life will be held at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St Stephen, N.B. on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 2 PM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2 PM.
