Mary Lou McLaughlin

Mary Lou McLaughlin passed away peacefully at the Charlotte County Hospital, St Stephen, NB on Sunday, June 5, 2022. Born in St Stephen, NB, in 1938, she was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Sloan) McCabe.

Survived by her husband Donald of 60 years, sons Alan and Steven (Holly) and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Lou started working at the soda fountain at the Tally Ho in high school.  She attended business college and then went on to work at the Royal Bank for many years. The end of her career had her working as the secretary at the Kirk McColl United church for over 30 years.

She was an avid figure skating fan, traveling to see many competitions.  She shared an interest in making various crafts with family and friends. She also had a love of cross country skiing.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings Herbert McCabe, Donald McCabe, Sarah Henderson, and Betty Anne Thompson.

Funeral service will be held at the Kirk McColl United Church, 70 King Street, St Stephen, NB. on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 2 PM. Visiting hours will be held at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, NB. on Wednesday, June 8, from 2-4 PM only and at the church on Thursday from 1PM until service time.

Interment at St. Stephen Rural Cemetery, St. Stephen, NB.
