M. Eleanore Craig

It is with great sadness that the Craig family announce the passing of Mary Eleanore (Johnson) Craig at Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews, NB on Thursday, May 19, 2022.

Born in 1926, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Clara (McCrum) Johnson and wife of the late Clifford W. Craig.

Eleanore was a long-time member of the Catholic faith, AA, Ladies Auxiliary, Rolling Dam W.I., Covered Bridge Crafts, Red Hat Society, bowling and her beloved square-dancing group.

She also worked for many years as a desk clerk at various motels.

Eleanore will be greatly missed by her children, Patricia Craig (Yvan), Gaynelle Craig, Ross Craig, and Peter Craig (Joanne), ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild. She is also survived by one sister, Lois Lombard, two sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her second husband, Larry Gilbert, siblings; Eileen, Blair "Spike", Iris, Hewitt, Robert, Ross and Paul, special friend, Lloyd Brown "Pa".

Resting at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St Stephen, NB from where the funeral will be held on Monday, May 23, 2022 at 1 PM. The visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, May 22, 2022 from 1-4 PM. For those who can not attend in person the livestream link is https://youtu.be/iXocMS2Y3pE

Interment was at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Rolling Dam, NB.
