M. Dawne Walsh

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother M. Dawne Walsh, 91, peacefully with family by her side at Charlotte County Hospital, St Stephen, N.B. on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.

Born in Charlotte County, N.B., she was a daughter of the late Bernard and Gertrude (McLaughlin) Cloney.

Dawne is survived by her four children, Michael Cloney (Shirley), Douglas McLean (Cindy), Dorothy "Dottie" McLean and Darrin McLean, six grandchildren, Lisa, Kelly, Jamie, Nickolas, Tony and Holly. She is also survived by many great grandchildren.

In addition to  her parents, she was predeceased by two children, David McLean and Debra McLean.

Dawne was nearing her 92^nd birthday, she was always a strong and independent woman. She raised her four surviving children and worked hard all her life to provide for her family.

 She loved cooking and spent many years as a cook at Carman’s Diner, Waweig camps for children and seasonal camps for hunters. She was known especially for her home-made pies and pastries.

Dawne loved her family fiercely and so many others called her mom. She was always offering to help others in anyway she could.

She embraced Income tax time, helping others by providing an honest and trusting service. This also provided her with a level of socializing which she welcomed and enjoyed.

Dawne also enjoyed going for drives with her youngest son Darrin and their dog Kujo. She was still driving right up until her final days. She loved long chats with her bestie Maggie and her other life long and close friends.

Dawne enjoyed life, she lived it well and she lived it long. She will be missed dearly.

In keeping with Dawne’s wishes, there will be no funeral service or visitation held. A private family interment will take place at the Moores Mills Cemetery, Moores Mills, N.B. at a later date.

For those who wish, donations in Dawne’s memory may be made to the Charlotte County SPCA or a charity of one’s choice.
