It is with deep sadness the family of Kevin Roland Douglas Joyce aka "KJ" or "Grampy Helen" announce his unexpected passing on Friday, July 8, 2022 at his residence with his beloved dog and best friend, Ginger, by his side.
Born November 3, 1965 in Saint John NB, he resided in Ontario for many years, but always regarded St. Stephen as his home, where his family resided and he returned in 2013.
He will be forever lovingly remembered by his daughter, adored grandchildren, niece, Stephanie Madsen and nephew Ryder Madsen, sister Sandra Joyce, nephew Justin (Amanda), brother Shaun Joyce (Karen), nephew Tristan, father Ronald Joyce, many other nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts and friends. He talked about them all.
Kevin was predeceased by his mother, Joy Joyce and brother Ronnie Joyce.
Kevin will be remembered for his great sense of humor, larger than life personality, boisterous laugh, love for storytelling, singing, dancing, his incredible artistic talents and penmanship. He loved being in the great outdoors, walking, swimming, kayaking, gardening, riding his bike, yard saling or socializing with anyone & everyone. When he wasn’t outdoors, he was in the kitchen whipping together a meal, he loved a good feed.
He loved his dog, Ginger, his family and friends. He was such a proud Dad and Grampy. No matter where he would go or who he would speak with, he would always talk about how proud he was of all of them. Just speaking with him and looking through his home, there was no doubt how much he loved them.
He loved connecting with people. He always took the time to stop and talk with you. He always took the time to help others whenever he could. All he ever wanted was to be accepted, respected and included.
He had many struggles throughout his years here on earth, but no matter what the situation was, he always tried to focus on the best outcome. His great sense of humor kept him going.
He was a fighter. Unfortunately, in recent years his health took it's toll and he had been deteriorating due to severe diabetic complications and stress.
In keeping with Kevin’s wishes, a celebration of life will take place at a later date.
To honour Kevin’s memory, the family would appreciate donations to help with the cost of his memorial stone. Any donations may be sent to Smet Monuments c/o Kevin Joyce Memorial Stone.
