On September 10, 2011, Karen passed away peacefully in Edmonton, AB surrounded by her family at the age of 67 years.
She will be forever remembered by her loving husband of 47 years, Joe; her daughters, Joelle and Jennifer (Richie) Nolan; her granddaughters, Taya and Maeve Nolan; and her dearest sissie, Annie. She will also be greatly missed by her five surviving siblings and their families.
Predeceased by her parents, Wayne and Gladys (Barlow) Charters. A graveside service will be held at the St. Stephen Rural Cemetery, St. Stephen, N.B. on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 2:00 p.m.
Karen did not want a somber service in her name and a memorial was held at the time of her passing. This Tribute Service is for distributing her ashes and will be a light-hearted, love-filled celebration of her life. There will be a digital photo presentation, her favourite music and everyone is encouraged to share their "Karen" memories. A microphone will be available during the reception and her family looks forward to hearing many wonderful stories.
Family will receive friends with a reception following the interment at the St. Stephen Royal Canadian Legion, 43 Queen Street, St. Stephen, NB.
