In Loving Memory Of

Juanita C. Sturgeon

1968 - 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Juanita Sturgeon, at the Charlotte County Hospital St Stephen, NB on Monday March 2, 2026.

Born in 1968 in Miramichi, NB, to Gary Sturgeon and Mary Ann Hallihan.

At the age of 14, Juanita moved to St. Stephen, where she built lifelong friendships.  She cherished the many close friends she met including Vicki, Sue and so many others who became like family to her.

Juanita found happiness in the simple things; a Pepsi or Coke in hand, sweets close by, watching her favorite soap operas, and scrolling through TikTok videos. She adored butterflies and loved browsing Temu for little treasures.  Above all, she treasured her relationships — her mother and daughter were her very best friends.

She is survived by her parents; Gary Sturgeon (Karen and Micheal), and Mary Ann Hallihan, her brother; Owen Sturgeon (Kelsey, Bentley, Kensleigh and Colton).

Juanita was a proud and devoted mother to Brittney and Tyler (Kayla).  Her greatest joy in life was being “Little Nana” to her beloved grandchildren; Skyler, Wyatt, Memphis, Maddox, Waylon, Macy, and Alana.  She also lovingly welcomed many bonus children and grandchildren along the way — if you ever needed a place to go, her door was always open.

Juanita will be missed dearly by her special cousins and many close relatives in Miramichi, NB; a place she loved to visit for time with family and good food.

She was predeceased by very special family members, including one of her favorite people whom she missed dearly — her stepfather; John Vanhym, who we know is now taking good care of her again.

Juanita leaves behind a family who will miss her deeply and carry her memory in their hearts forever.

At this time, there will be no services.
