PETERS - John David Brian - Passed away suddenly in St. Stephen, NB on June 7, 2011. Survived by his wife of 44 years Mary Louise (Gibson) Peters, son Geoffrey Peters (Nadine) of Coldbrook, NS, daughter Lesley Anne (Peters) Cammack (Jeff) and grandchildren Nathan and Victoria, sister Dawne Scribner and nieces Angie Scribner and Patti Scribner. Predeceased by mother Hilda (Gardner) McCully, father William John Peters and sister Patricia. Dave graduated from Teachers' College in 1964 and from St. Thomas University in 1971. He taught in St. Stephen for 34 years. Actively involved in the community, Dave coached track, soccer, senior girls' basketball; he was a Scout leader for 17 years, was a member of the local Lions for a number of years, and was heavily involved with many aspects of the Kirk McColl United Church. Dave loved hiking and canoeing and, later in life, enjoyed golf and bowling. He was a great husband and father and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at Kirk McColl United Church, King Street, St. Stephen, NB on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be at Kirk McColl United Church on Saturday, June 11, 2011 from 1:00-2:00 pm. In Dave's memory, remembrances may be made to the Charlotte County SPCA or a charity of the donor's choice.
