James “Jimmy/Jim” Harper

James "Jimmy, Jim" Harper peacefully passed away at the Charlotte County Hospital, St Stephen, NB, on June 13^th, 2024, surrounded by his sweet and loving family, at the age of 84 years.

Jimmy was the son of the late Aubrey and Mildred Harper of Upper Mills, NB.

Jimmy worked many years as an auto mechanic and people came from near and far to have him work on their vehicles.  Jim was also very active amongst the community of Upper Mills, NB, of which he lived and was the first person to lend a helping hand.  Jimmy was a very loving man and idolized his family.  He believed in strong family values and emphasized the importance of being kind to one another, as he always was.  Our Jim was simply "one in a million".  He left his stamp on all our hearts and will be greatly missed.

Jim is survived by his beautiful wife of 63 years, Janet, one child, Sue Ellen Smith (Jody), granddaughter, Bryanna Lindsay (Josh), two beautiful great grandchildren, Quinn and Gabe Lindsay, two sisters, Carol McCray (Frank) and Mary Pulk.

In additions to his parents, Jim was also predeceased by sisters, Paula and Katherine and brother Johnny.

Funeral service will be held at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B. on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 2 pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday  from 12pm until service time.
