It is with heavy hearts that the family of James "Jim" E. Legacy announce his unexpected passing at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B. on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, surrounded by love with his wife and children by his side. Beloved husband of Veronica Legacy (Mosher).
Jim was the son of the late Mary Ellen Guitar and James Joseph Legacy. He was born in Jacquet River, N.B and lived in St. Stephen, N.B. for most of his life.
Jim was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a good friend to many, whether helping someone with mechanics or carpentry or just chatting over a cup of tea, he was always there for anyone who needed it. He was a very hard worker whose main goal was always to take good care of his wife and kids even if that meant he had to go without. He loved his country and bluegrass music and dragged Mom along to all the festivals at her displeasure. He loved to watch The Waltons and Little House on the Prairie reruns over and over. His faith was strong, and he was ready to see his baby daughter, parents, and brothers who passed on before him. Jim had the kindest and loving heart and all the babies in the family had this amazing attraction to him. As much as we will miss him, we know he’s where he’s been waiting to be.
Aside from his wife, Jim is survived by his adoring children: Kimberly Haley, Adam Legacy (Tracy), Angela Haley, Carrie Daigle (David), Kelly Lusk (Kirby), James Legacy (Megan), grandchildren: Erica (Wendy), Joseph (Caitlin), Alicia, Scotty (Jessica), Vicki (Jamon), Maria (Kyle), Kody (Taylor), Kolby, and Abby, one sister, Mary, several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by his baby girl Sandra, brothers: Edgar, Leslie, George, Clarence, Frank and John.
In Dad’s last 3 days, over Christmas in the CCU, the care he (and we) received was second to none. A very special thank you to his angel nurse, Adam whose empathy and compassion was amazing.
We miss you already Dad and will see you again someday.
At Jim’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral services.
For those who wish donations to Muscular Dystrophy Canada or the Upper Mills United Church in Upper Mills, NB, would be greatly appreciated by the family. Condolences may be sent to the family online at mehanfuneralhome.ca
