J. W.(Bill) Garcelon

GARCELON- It is with deep regret that the family announces the passing of J.W. (Bill) Garcelon at his beloved home in Bayside, NB on Friday, May 27, 2011. He was born in St. Stephen, NB in 1938. He was the son of the late Ralph and Dorothy (Higgins) Garcelon.He is survived by his wife of over fifty years Patricia (Pomeroy) three children, Leanne (Mario) Della Savia of Mississauga ON., Lisa (Alan) Blair of Dartmouth, NS, James (Julie) Garcelon of Toronto, ON, grandchildren, Joshua and Samantha Della Savia, Melissa and Caitlin Blair, Jorja, Ava and Audrey Garcelon; sister, Joanne Reichelt, cousins, several nieces and nephews.He graduated from St Stephen High School and attended the University of New Brunswick. He returned to St Stephen to join his father in the family stamp business. After the interest in stamp collecting declined he successfully branched into real estate management.Bill was well known around Charlotte County as a keen supporter of St Stephen and the county. He was interested in and a supporter of the St Croix Public Library, the Charlotte County Genealogy Society, the Charlotte County Cancer Society, the Garcelon Civic Centre and other local organizations.Funeral service will be held at the Kirk McColl United Church, King Street, St. Stephen, NB on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 2 PM. Visiting hours will be held at The S. O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd, 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, NB on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.For those who wish, remembrances to the Charlotte County Cancer Society, the St Croix Library Children's Section or the St Croix Volunteer Centre would be appreciated by the family.
