Irene E. Billingsley

It is with sadness the family of Irene E. (Libby) Billingsley announce her passing at Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews, N.B. on Thursday, February 9, 2023.

Born in 1950, she was a daughter of the late Leslie and Dorothea Libby.

Irene was someone that would always greet you with a smile and a warm hello, she loved everyone.  She would often be found gardening, building things or taking great care and attention to her fur babies. Her passion for being on the water on a boat was only second to her kids and grandkids. She spoke of us so fondly everywhere she went. Always the one to say these are MY babies.

As her health deteriorated, she never stopped holding our hands, telling us "It’ll be OK, you'll see". The homemade french fries, extended family gatherings with guitar playing and singing but most of all her warm embracing hugs. Although only 4'11, her love was unmatched in size for her loved ones.  We will miss you dearly our rock. Rest now mom. We love you, until we meet again...

Irene is survived by her son, Jeffery Billingsley (Erin), daughter, Jeannie Johnston, four grandchildren, T.J. McMorran, Eric, Quinn and Austin Billingsley, several nieces and nephews and Jeannie’s father, Fraser Johnston.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Billingsley, three brothers, Jimmy, Jerry and Robert Libby, and sister, Judy Storr.

A Celebration of Life will be held at The S O Mehan and Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B. on Friday July 14th at 6 pm.
