Helen Mae (Fitzpatrick) Dinsmore In sadness at the loss but in joy for the long and full life she lived, the family of Helen Mae (Fitzpatrick) Dinsmore, 98, announces her death which occurred at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB on Wednesday, March 26, 2008. Born in Calais, Maine on January 6, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Edgar C. and Martha E. (Yates) Fitzpatrick and was the last surviving member of her family. She was a graduate of the Calais Academy Class of 1926. On March 6, 1929, Helen was united in marriage to Joseph E. Dinsmore of St. Stephen, NB and Helen found herself moving over the river to St. Stephen where the young couple established their home. She was predeceased by her husband on March 13, 1964.During her lifetime, Helen worked at various jobs, the last two being at the T. Eaton Co. Ltd. order office and Hills Bros. Ltd. She was a past member of the St. Stephen Chapter No.8, Order of the Eastern Star; a member of the Kirk McColl United Church and in her younger years was a member of their Senior Choir and the Ladies Friendship Circle. She will be remembered for her gift of hospitality, generosity and devotion to her family and friends. Mourning her loss is her daughter, Eleanor Langway of Calais, Maine; her son, Richard (Pauline) Dinsmore and a special nephew Douglas (Margaret) Dinsmore, both of St. Stephen, NB; her granddaughter Cathy (Steven) Courtois of Lyman, Maine; and grandsons Mark Caswell of Winterport, Maine and Brian Dinsmore of St. Stephen, NB; great-grandchildren Chrystal, James, Jessie and Randy and great-great grandchildren Alyssa and Hayden; sister-in-law Ethel Fitzpatrick of Milltown, ME; as well as several other nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Helen was predeceased by her granddaughter Brenda Lee Caswell Owens; her son-in-law William Langway; her brothers Herbert, Ernest, Wilbur and Paul Fitzpatrick and her sisters Margaret E. Murphy and Irma Dickinson. Resting at the S.O. Mehan and Son Funeral Home, 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, NB where visiting hours will be held on Friday, March 28, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM Canadian Time. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at 2 PM Canadian Time with Pastor Bob Hinton officiating. Interment at St. Stephen Rural Cemetery. One of Helen’s greatest enjoyments in life were her grandchildren and she always looked forward to their visits both as young children and mature adults. But I know if she could speak, she would ask you not to weep but to laugh as you remember the happy times and that you would understand her passing has given her a new life and freedom from a body that was tired and worn out and that she is in a better place now. Grandma’s Hugs Are Made Of Love! Everything our Grandma did was something special made with love. She took the time to add the extra touch that said, “I love you very much.” She fixed hurts with a kiss and smile and told good stories Grandma-style. It was warm and cozy on her lap for secret telling or a nap. And when we say our prayers at night We ask God to bless and hold her tight.
