Guy Acheson of Elmsville, NB passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, the former Muriel McKinney. He is also survived by one son, Richard Acheson (Theresa), daughter-in-law, Elaine Whittier, daughter, Nancy Davenport (Clayton), grandchildren, Cindy Nickerson (Jason), Laurie Whittier (Robbie), Tyler Acheson (Nickey), Amanda Acheson (Tom), Sgt. Layton Davenport (Tabitha), Tammy Jo Chisholm (Damion) 4 great grandchildren, Emily Nickerson, Amber and Darien Davenport, Alexander Chisholm, 3 sisters, Muriel Caldwell, Phyllis Gilman and Olive Urquhart, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 2 sons, Gary Whittier and David Whittier, his parents Guy and Marion Acheson and by his brother Karl Acheson.A life long resident of Elmsville, he was a member of the Anglican Church and a self employed farmer woodsman. He took great pride and delight in all his grandchildren, he loved the outdoors and his horses and his cows. He was kind to all and never failed to lend a helping hand when needed to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed for his love of life and for his great sense of fun.The funeral service will be held from the S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at 2 PM. Interment will be in the Elmsville Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Christ Church Hall, Elmsville. All are welcome to come. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation, Kidney Foundation, Diabetes Association, Christ Church, Elmsville, Missing Children's Fund or charity of ones choice.
