Gerald “Jed” O’Brien

With sorrow, the family said goodbye to Gerald "Jed" O’Brien on Thursday April 26, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, New Brunswick.

Jed is the son of the late Gerald and Grace O’Brien of Milltown, New Brunswick.

He was a 40-year employee of NB Tel, a fitting job of his strengths connecting to others.

In 1972, with the enjoyment of woodworking, he designed and built a cottage in Oak Bay, New Brunswick.  Family and friends would gather here for celebrations and time together.  Jed would always enjoy his vacation days during hunting season.  He and his friends would always pack their gear and head off to camp.  The biggest reward was when they brought home a moose.  There was a lot of steak those winters.

Jed was a devoted, dedicated husband of 62 years to Grace, father to Mark (Bernadette) and Stacey (Shawn), loving grandfather to; Chantal, Melissa (Dylan) and Christopher, siblings, Juanita, Donald (Yvonne) and Diane, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Thora and Brother-in-law, Bill White.

To honour Jed’s wishes, there will be a graveside service on Friday May 2, 2025, 2 pm at the St Stephen Rural Cemetery, St Stephen, New Brunswick.
