Gary Johnson

It is with sadness the family of Gary Johnson announce his unexpected passing at his home on Sunday, June 2, 2024.

Born in St. Stephen, N.B., son of the late Roderick and Margaret Johnson.

Gary spent much of his working career as a traveling salesman which suited him as he loved to meet new people. This led him to start his own business, Atlantic Home Improvements, which he continued with for almost 25 years until his retirement. However, his most enjoyable career came about after retirement when he became a long-haul truck driver and traveled all over North America with his beloved wife by his side.

Gary’s biggest joys in life were his family and his winters in Florida.

He is survived by his daughter, Debbie (Gene), son in law, Stephen of Fredericton, beloved grandchildren, Megan of Halifax, Matthew of Vancouver and Kendall and Zoe, both of St. Stephen. He will also be greatly missed by his great grandson Mitchell. He also leaves behind his sister, Christine (John) Woods of Birneys Lake, brother, David (Marie) of Bangor, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Irene, daughter, Brenda, brother, Floyd and sister, Carol.

Funeral service will be held at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B. on Monday, June 10, 2024 at 2 PM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 12- 2 PM.
