In Loving Memory Of

Garrett C. Chase

1989 - 2026

It is with profound sadness that the family of Garrett Chase announce his unexpected passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on March 15, 2026, at the age of 37.Born in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Garrett was raised in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, where he spent most of his life and built lasting friendships within the community.

Garrett was first and foremost a devoted father. He loved his children deeply and took great pride in being a dad to Nolan, Claire, Ryan, and Emma. Coaching minor hockey was one of his greatest joys, especially when it meant being on the ice with his son Nolan.

Garrett worked at Cooke Aquaculture at the Elmsville Hatchery.

An athlete from the time he could walk, Garrett loved sports and had an incredible memory for statistics. He could talk sports anytime, anywhere with anyone who was willing.

He will be remembered for his quick wit, his great sense of humour and how easy he was to be around. Garrett loved to laugh and loved making others laugh even more. He was always ready with a joke or a funny line. Being around Garrett meant smiles, laughter, and good company.

Garrett cherished family traditions, especially holiday gatherings and dinners—particularly his mom’s famous stuffing. Those moments with family meant everything to him.

Garrett leaves behind his loving life partner, Holly Tucker; his children Nolan, Claire, Ryan, and Emma; his father Kenny Chase (Marlene); his mother Lyn Ross (Jim); his sisters, Alicia Chase (Sean); Nicole Breen (Pat), Hillary Hastey (Najee), Jessica Ross, and Mallory Coutinho (Sean). He will also be deeply missed by his extended family and friends.

Garrett will be remembered for his kindness, humour, love of family, and the genuine warmth he brought into the lives of those who knew him. He was witty, caring, and truly one of a kind. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the Western Charlotte Fire Department for their relentless effort; the ambulance services, paramedics, doctors, nurses and hospital emergency staff at both Charlotte County and Saint John Regional Hospital.

Funeral service will be held at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B. on Friday, March 20, 2026 at 2 PM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12-2 PM.

Private interment will take place at a later date.

For those who wish, donations in memory of Garrett may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
