Elwell Howard Russell died on January 2, 2005 at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB, at age 93. Born in St. Stephen, NB on February 19, 1911. Son of the late Leverette and Jennie (Norton) Russell. It is with great sadness we announce his death. Dear friend and companion of Myrtle McConkey. Elwell is survived by his daughters, Natalie McLaughlin (Urban) and Barbara Moquin (Ken), son, Linwood Russell (Amelia Landry), seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, two great, great grandchildren, one sister, Viola Gibson and two brothers, John (Nellie) and Gardiner (Emma) Russell. He is also survived by his extended family, sisters-in-law, Hilda, Eleanor and Irene Russell, Ethel and Madeline Holmes, several nieces, nephews and cousins.Predeceased by his wife, Mildred (Holmes) Russell, sister, Phyllis and brothers, Harmon, Donald, Ralph and Harold.Funeral Service will be held from Kirk McColl United Church, King Street, St. Stephen, NB on Wednesday January 5, 2005 at 2 PM with Rev. Douglas Cosman officiating.Visiting was held on Tuesday January 4, 2005 at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Interment and committal will take place in the St. Stephen Rural Cemetery following cremation on Friday January 7, 2005 at 11 AM.The family will receive friends after the funeral service at a reception in Kirk McColl Church Hall.In lieu of flowers remembrances to Kirk McColl United Church or charity of ones choice would be appreciated by the family.Sussex Lodge #7 F & AM held a tribute service on Tuesday evening.
