Edna Pauline Flagg

At The Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B., on Saturday, August 30, 2003 Edna Pauline Flagg, widow of Frank I. Flagg, of Queen Street West, St. Stephen, N.B.

Edna is survived by step-daughter, Mary Jean (Stevenson) (McKnight) Stewart of RollingDam, N.B. and step-children, James Flagg of Calgary, and Mary Flagg of Fredericton, N.B., plus numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren in St. Stephen and Calgary AB.

Edna was predeceased her first husband, James Stevenson in 1957 and by her second husband, Frank Flagg, in 1988 and by step daughters, Judy McLay in 1991 and Jane Flagg in 1999, by her sister, Violet in 1915.

Edna was born in St. George, N.B. April 4,1910, daughter of Herbert A. and (1859-1942) and Georgia (Phillips) (1868-1948) Harvey. Following graduation from high school in St. George and M.T. Crabb' s in St. Stephen, N.B., Edna worked for Stewart and McKay, Bank of Nova Scotia, Irving Oil Ltd. and The S.O. Mehan and Son Funeral Home Ltd. before retiring in 1978.

As a child in St. George Edna remembered the fall-out from the Halifax Explosion in 1917, which drifted across the bay. The day was locally known as yellow Sunday.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, St. Stephen on Monday September 1, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Paul Riley officiating.

Interment took place in the family plot at St. Patricks Roman Catholic Cemetery, RollingDam, N.B.

Pall Bearers were Donnie Smith, John Doyle, David McKnight, Tom McKnight, Joe Berry and Alward L. Mehan.

Prayers were offered at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 P.M. August 31, 2003. The S.O. Mehan and Son Funeral Home Ltd. 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, NB.
