The death of Edith Mabel (Kirk) Madsen, 84, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, N.B. November 14, 2006 after a two year battle with cancer. Born February 11, 1922, Edith was predeceased by the parents and husband Norman Madsen. Survived by son David “Skip” Madsen (Christine) of New Minas, N.S., son James Madsen (Susan) of St. Stephen, N.B., daughter Judy Grandy (Ken) of Fredericton, N.B., daughter Janie Messer (Brian) of Fredericton, N.B., grandchildren Gregory Madsen, Norman George Grandy, Rebecca Grandy, Mehgan Grandy, Amy Messer and Katie Messer, great-grandchildren Eric and Brodie, half-sister Carole Fowler and half-brother Johnny McBride. There will be no visitation or funeral. Interment and memorial service will take place in the spring.
