Dorothy L. Devlin

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorothy Devlin, of Oak Bay, New Brunswick on September 26, 2026, at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, New Brunswick.

Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, daughter of the late Ronald and Mary Justason. Dorothy was predeceased by siblings Paul and Peggy, and survived by sisters Anne Grant (Maynard), Helene Justason (Kevin Lewis) and brother Ronald Justason (Twyla), along with beloved nieces, Suzanne, Amy, Julie, Kathy and Jenna and nephew, Ronnie Jr., grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Dorothy leaves behind her devoted husband, David Devlin, and her cherished children, Tara Devlin-Huys (Mark Huys), Erin Devlin, and Bradley Devlin (Fiona Clarke). She was a proud and loving grandmother to Sam, Skyler, Grace, Brodie, Jack, Nia and Nadia, who were the light of her life.

Dorothy had a distinguished career at Bell Aliant (formerly NBTel) for 30+years and continued many close friendships from her time there after her retirement in 2005. Dorothy and David enjoyed traveling after retirement and shared many adventures with family and friends.

Dorothy was a dedicated member of the Rotary Club for more than 20 years and spent countless hours volunteering in the community. As well, she was a faithful member and volunteer at the Union Street United Baptist Church, generously giving her time and talents to teach Sunday School, support the We’ve Got Your Back program and serving on the Church Management Board.

A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, Dorothy touched countless lives with her warm smile, kind heart, and loving nature. She formed lasting friendships wherever she went and was always ready with words of encouragement or a helping hand.

Above all, Dorothy treasured her family. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and could often be found cheering them on from the sidelines at sporting events, whether on the field, court or at the ice rink. Her unwavering love, pride, and support meant the world to them.

Dorothy's legacy of kindness, compassion, faith, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Funeral service will be held at the Union Street Atlantic Baptist Church, St. Stephen, New Brunswick on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 11 AM. Family and friends are welcome to attend a time of visitation at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, New Brunswick on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 from 6-8 PM.

A private family interment will take place at the St. George Rural Cemetery, St. George, New Brunswick.
