It is with great sadness the family of Dorothy Keddy of Brockway, N.B. announce her passing at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.
Born in St Stephen, NB in 1936, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Edna (Toal) Vail.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Shelley Mae Keddy (Charles Lorette), Wayne Vail Keddy (Arlene), Angela Marie McLaughlin (James) and Michael Sode (Lynn Goreham) , grandchildren, Sarah, Anna, Seth, Michael, Coleen, Jamie, Jasmine and Jenna, great-grandchildren, Jaden, Dylan, Thayne, Chayse, Jayla, Amanda, Jacob, Taylor, Dawson, Carmen, Kaden and Koda, great- great-grandchild, Bellamy, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dorothy was predeceased by the love of her life and husband of 57 years; Sheldon (2011), grandson; children; Greg and two great-grandchildren Joshua and Aja, as well as her siblings; Phillip, Barbara and Warren.
Dorothy will be lovingly remembered as a kind, loving intelligent woman with endless energy. She was a pillar of knowledge, creativity and talent which led her to being an accomplished chef, gardener, business entrepreneur, seamstress and quilter, hairdresser and whatever else she set her focus upon.
During the last 25 years, she put countless hours into collecting, preserving and recording our family genealogy. Her life-long passion with music – piano in her earlier life to her father’s fiddle music and then later years at church. She was also an active and very enthusiastic member of the Brockway church Choir until her passing.
Funeral service will be held at the Brockway Union Church, Brockway, NB on Friday May 1 at 2 pm with Pastor Hollis Clark officiating.
