Doris Lillian {Sprout} McSorley of 21 River St, St Stephen at the Charlotte County Hospital December 3, 2009 after a sudden battle with cancer. Wife of the late John McSorley, Doris was born in this town that she loved on July 21, 1931, the daughter of Herb and Bea Sprout. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Christine {Daryl} Spires, Martin {Shelley} McSorley of St. Stephen and Tim {Bernadette} McSorley of Toronto, her grandchildren, Sean, Michael, Rebecca and Daniel, sisters Margaret {Ben} Reilly of Florida and Shirley {Clarence} Murphy of Woodland, several nieces and nephews and our good friend Maureen Johnson. Besides her husband John and her parents, Doris was predeceased by her first son Michael, and her sister Christine {Manzer} Duplissea.Doris enjoyed most sports, loved bowling 3 times a week, the Montreal Canadians, playing piano and any excuse for a get together with family and her friends in her own apartment at the St. Croix Retirement Community, where her star really shone the last few years. Funeral Service will be held at S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main St, St. Stephen on Monday, December 7th, 2009 at 2:00 pm. By request there will be no visitation. A reception will follow at Doris’ favorite party spot, the River room at the St. Croix Retirement Community, 21 River St, St. Stephen. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to Charlotte County Cancer, Hospice of Charlotte, Charlotte County SPCA or charity of ones choice would be appreciated by the family.mehanfuneralhome.ca
