Dale W. Greenlaw

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Dale W. Greenlaw on November 26, 2025, at the age 82.

Dale was born in the Chipman Memorial Hospital in St Stephen, NB in May 1943.  He grew up in St Stephen, NB, where he graduated from the St Stephen High School in 1961. After high school he took diesel mechanics at Moncton Tech.

He moved to Oshawa, ON to work in a Ford assembly plant, then returned to NB where he took a job in Fredericton, NB, installing cable and met his wife Gloria, whom he was married to for 54 years.

Dale was in the Militia and later became a member of the Royal Canadian Legion.  Dale loved to hunt, fish and enjoy the outdoors.  He also enjoyed bowling and curling in the Point Lepreau Social Club.  Dale loved to dance, and was known for being a great dancer, he had many nicknames such as “Dancing Diamond Dale”.

Dale and Gloria eventually moved to Little Ridge, NB, where he started a hobby farm and worked at Point Lepreau, as security guard and became the head of security and was there for 25 years until his retirement.

Dale also loved to travel, his favourite place being Hawaii.  After retirement, he lived on his friend Dave Mehan’s sailboat in Hawaii for two months.  Dale was fascinated with his Scottish heritage and spent time with the Greenlaw Family Association.

Dale especially loved his grandchildren, he was a giving, loving man, with a big heart and sense of humour.  He always made those around him laugh.

Surviving are his children Alisa (Dave) Cook, Blain Greenlaw and Darin Greenlaw; grandchildren Kira, Malory, Matthew, Kathleen, Tyra, and Calin; great-grandchildren Quinn, William, Olivia, Norah, Cohen and Penelope; brother Wayne, Glen, and sister Debbie.

Dale was predeceased by his parents; Frederick and Marjorie Greenlaw; wife; Gloria Greenlaw, sisters-in-law; Susan Greenlaw and Claire Dunn and brother-in-law; Paul Babcock.

As per Dale’s wishes, there will be no funeral or visitation held. Private interment will take place at Oak Bay Cemetery at a later date.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude and thanks to Lincourt Manor staff for their kindness, compassion and care to Dale during in his time there.

Dale is now reunited with his wife Gloria.  He will be dearly missed, loved and remembered always.
