In Loving Memory Of

Corey Woodside

1972 - 2026

It is with great shock and sadness that the family of Corey J. Woodside announce his passing at home in Moores Mills, NB on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 with his beloved dog Ella by his side.

Corey, tenth born in the Woodside clan, was the baby of the family. His charm, Diana Ross smile and dimples drew people to him and often got him out of trouble. To those who knew him best, Corey had a witty sense of humour, was a great judge of character and always had a good story to tell.

Often the voice of reason, Corey was a wise counsellor to many who credit him with helping them navigate through a crisis. We wish to acknowledge that his kind, calm ways, combined with his ability to listen, helped to save the lives of those he lovingly listened to and shared his wisdom with.

He always stayed abreast of politics and knew what was happening around the world as well as with local politics (AKA the happenings down the road). Many of us relied on him to keep us informed.

Corey loved listening to music and had a beautiful singing voice. He loved spending time with family, especially his lifelong, best friend and nephew Chuck Carter. He loved family game nights and kicked butt at trivia games and ping pong. Children were naturally drawn to his silly playful ways and gentle nature. Corey was an avid reader and was considering a return to his studies. Like his Mom, Corey was a talented crafter and made beautiful jewelry.

He studied at the University of New Brunswick in the early 90’s, worked for Social Development in St Stephen before returning to school to take up work with computers. He worked for Ganong’s in IT before returning to NBCC where he graduated as an IT Analyst and took a position working for NBCC.

The most important work of Corey’s life was the loving care he took of his husband during his battle with cancer and the same tender care he showed his mother by moving in and providing continual care and support during her last few years. Corey was a gentle and attentive care giver who filled her final days with favourite foods, tenderness, singing and laughter.

Corey was an invaluable support for his sister Lori during her cross Canada walk to bring awareness to Intimate Partner Violence. He built her website, spent countless hours on the phone reassuring her during her walk and was her support driver through the province of Nova Scotia. He had agreed to take on the emotionally exhausting role as family liaison with the Fredericton City Police during the ongoing investigation into his beloved sister Patty’s death.

Corey was predeceased by his husband and love of his life Stan W. Epperson, his mother Edna Woodside, his father Horace B. Woodside, brother Leonard Woodside, sister Patricia, brother-in-law Donnie Greenier and nephew Deven Woodside.

Corey is survived by his siblings Katherine Carter (Arthur), Sandra Boles (Rick), Debbie Barter (Jim), Michael Woodside (Brad), Brenda Greenier, Bonny Cameron (Scott), Lori Haggerty (Mike), sister-in-law Marlene Woodside, eighteen nieces and nephews, twenty- eight great-nieces and nephews, one great-great-niece, his aunts Melva Merrill (Arnold), Judith Woodside and his many cousins and extended family and dearest friends.

A graveside service will be held at the Moores Mills Cemetery, Moores Mills, NB, on June 3, 2026 at 1pm with a celebration of life to follow at the Moores Mills Hall where all are welcome.

In Corey's memory, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Condolences can be sent to the family online at www.mehanfuneralhome.ca.
