Sweeney - After a long battle with cancer, Constance (Connie) Irene (McQuoid) Sweeney of Halifax , NS. passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at the Victoria General Hospital Halifax, NS. Born October 13, 1927 to Hope and Nellie (Farmer) McQuoid of St. Andrews, NB. Connie is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 55yrs, Murray K.A. Sweeney who at the time of Connie's passing was and remains a stroke care patient at the Queen Elizabeth 11 Infirmary in Halifax. Connie was always so proud of her husband and two sons Robert H. (Bob), and his wife Liza of St. Stephen, NB. William M. (Bill), of St. Albert, Alberta. Connie's family include her grandchildren Ryan of High Prarie, Alberta, Kim of St. Albert, Alberta, Clint Simmons and his wife Traci of Fredericton, NB. Great grandson Luke Simmons of Fredericton, NB. Brother William McQuoid and his wife Joan of Fredericton, NB. 3 sisters Hope Green of Fredericton, NB. Ruth Logan of Saint John, NB. and Barb Paisley her husband Al of Toronto, Ont. Several nieces and nephews. Connie was predeceased by daughter-in-law Heather wife of Bill this past August. Connie was a dedicated wife and mother who always enjoyed life to its fullest. She was an avid golfer and never shied away from telling the stories of how she got not only one but two “Holes-In-One”. Connie will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her but none will miss her more than Murray.A memorial service will be held Saturday January 7, 2006 at 2 PM from the Union Street Atlantic Baptist Church Union St. St. Stephen, NB. With Rev. Dr. Garth Williams officiating. The family will receive friends after the service with a reception in the church hall.
