Claudia A. Young

It is with great sadness that the Family of Claudia Young announce her passing on Monday September 28, 2026. She passed peacefully with family at her side at her Wauklehegan Manor residence in McAdam.

Claudia was born in Germany in 1944, daughter of Karl and Frieda Lewitz. She met her husband Jerry while he was posted to Germany with the Canadian Armed Forces. They married in 1965 and had 3 children during Jerry’s postings. They permanently moved to Canada in 1971. Claudia became a Canadian Citizen in 1975, something she was very proud of.

Her career consisted of being a stay-at-home Mom in her early years while doing bookkeeping for Jerry’s business and later became a self-employed Insurance Broker herself. She served on McAdam Credit Union Board of Directors. She also served on Lakeland Industries Board of Directors and was Chairman of that Board for several years.

She is survived by her three sons; Donny (Brenda), Bob (Kim) and Tom (Lia), five grandchildren; April (Rick), Amber (Billy), Morgan (Zach), Justin , Brittany (Tyler), several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a special cousin in Germany; Ingrid (Eckhart).

In addition to her parents, Claudia was predeceased by her husband; Gerald (48 years).

A graveside service will be held on Monday October 5, 2026, at 2 pm at the Rockland Cemetery McAdam, NB, with Rev Ellen Beairsto officiating.
