Charles E. Estey

It is with sadness the family of Charles E. Estey announce his passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, N.B. on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, with his family by his side.

Born in 1948, Charlie was one of eight children of the late Ronald and Ida Estey and grew up in St. Stephen. Charlie was always active and over the years he loved playing baseball, bowling, and most of all hockey where he played goalie for over six decades. He was an avid sports fan; he loved the Orioles, and you could always find him watching his beloved Steelers on football Sundays. He was an excellent electrician and very dedicated to his work, always helping out where he could.

Charlie is survived by his children; Tricia Richardson (Joe), Brett Estey, Andrew Estey (Erica, and grandchildren Grace, Charlotte), Carolyn (CJ) Lawlor (Bill, and grandchildren Aidan, Fallon, Finn), Sean Belyea, siblings; Yvonne O’Brien (Donnie), Bruce Estey (Angie), Patty Parsons, Pauline Bartlett (Doug), Robert Estey (Heather), Stephen Estey (Edna), Marie Archer, along with several cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his partner and love, Bonnie Barry, who he shared many happy years with.

He cherished time with his family and grandkids and especially days spent by the pool. He was loved and will be missed by all.

The family will receive friends at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B. on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 from 6-8 PM. In keeping with Charlie’s wishes, no funeral service will be held.

A private family interment will take place at Moores Mills Cemetery, Moores Mills, N.B.

For those who wish, donations in Charlie’s memory may be made to the local SPCA or charity of one’s choice.
