McSHANE, Cairine Winnifred (Gowan), 81, passed away on Thursday, the 15th day of December, 2011 at the Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB. Cairine Winnifred was born on Thursday, the 3rd day of April 1930, at the Regional Hospital, Calais, ME, USA; daughter of the late Agnes Marie (Holliday) and Frederick Henry Gowan; wife of the late Harold Vincent McShane.

Survived by one sister: Eva Mary (Gowan), Mrs. Leicester Knight Spires of Ottawa, ON; two brothers: Frederick Gordon Gowan and Wife Rose Eveline (Parker) of Burlington, ON; Robert Arthur Gowan and wife Elizabeth Susanna (Leach) of Kemptville, ON; special cousins, nephews and nieces.

Predeceased by her parents, Frederick Henry Gowan (7 November, 1933) and Agnes Marie (Holliday) (22 March 1959); one brother, Edwin Thomas Gowan (19 July 1949); husband, Harold Vincent McShane (26 October 1996); one sister, Kathleen Anne (Gowan) Mrs. Harold Francis Cockburn (21 September 2004)

Resting at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home (1-506-466-8144), St. Stephen, NB with visitation on Tuesday, the 20th day of December 2011, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Funeral mass will be celebrated from St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church, Milltown Boulevard, St. Stephen, NB on Wednesday, the 21st day of December 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Paul Doucet officiating.

Interment of ashes in St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Rollingdam, NB.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Cairine's memory may be made to the "Building Fund" of St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church, St. Stephen, NB, the St. Stephen Food Bank, or to the charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family.
