Betty J. McBride

The family are saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Betty J. (Denley) McBride on Thursday May 30, 2024, at Lincourt Manor, St Stephen, NB.

Betty was the daughter of the late Hollis and Cora Denley.

Betty and David McBride were married for 63 years before his passing in 2017.  They lived on King Street in St Stephen, NB for nearly 60 years.  Along with raising four children, they loved to dance and attended weekly dances for many years well in to their 70’s.  They loved to spend time at their cottage in Oak Bay, NB, enjoying the beautiful tidal water views across from Spoon Island.  On warm summer days, they liked to take their boat for a cruise down the river to St. Andrews, NB.

Betty was a member of the Eastern Star for many years.  She started her financial career with RBC as a bank teller and advanced to financial advisor during her 20 years with the bank.  Upon retirement, she started a bookkeeping business for a few local businesses, including David’s welding company.

Betty was mother to Diane Gregory, Peter, Michael and Steven McBride, grandmother to Carolyn Des Roches, Laura Gregory and Evan McBride, great- grandmother to Kaylie Gregory, Tyler, Ainsley and Juliette Des Roches.

In addition to her parents and husband, David, Betty was also predeceased by her sons, Michael and Peter McBride, her sister Paula Langlois of Sudbury, Ontario.

A Celebration of her life will be held at Union Street Atlantic Baptist Church, St Stephen, NB on Tuesday June 4^th, 2024 at 1pm.  The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 12pm until service time.

Interment at St Stephen Rural Cemetery, St Stephen, NB.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations in Betty’s memory to the Union Street Atlantic Baptist Church or a charity of one’s choice.  Condolences may be sent to the family online at mehanfuneralhome.ca
