NORDSTROM- At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB on Saturday, April 11, 2009, Bernard (Sonny) Charles Nordstrom. He was born March 3, 1932 and was the son of the late Charles and Violet (Lobb) Nordstrom. He was the husband of Yvonne (Casey) Nordstrom of St. Stephen, NB.Sonny’s passions included horse racing, baseball, hockey, hunting and spending time with his family. In his younger years he enjoyed playing sports and in later years coaching minor hockey and baseball. He loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports.Sonny was a member of the St Peter’s Saints, winning Maritime Championships in 1963 and with this team was inducted into the Saint John Sports Hall of Fame.After his retirement from Lake Utopia Paper he took great pride in working around his property. He especially enjoyed decorating during the holiday seasons for the enjoyment of the community.He is survived by his wife, Yvonne, his children, Charlotte(Tex) Giddens, Greg(Jackie) Nordstrom, Gwen(Bill)Borthwick, Allison(Anne)Nordstrom, Kenny Nordstrom, Andrew Nordstrom, his grandchildren, Ryan, Andrew and Scott Giddens, Hailey and Lindsay Nordstrom, Gregory Jackson, Cameron(Danielle),Cara, Bethany and Chrissy Nordstrom, Colton and Sydney Nordstrom, great grandson, Tanner Nordstrom, his brothers, Gerald(Marilyn) Nordstrom, James Nordstrom, his sisters, Winnie Hughes, Barbara(Allen) MacNeil and several nieces and nephews.Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Union Street, St. Stephen, NB at 11 AM. There will be no visitation by request. Interment at Milltown Catholic Cemetery, St. Stephen, NB.For those who wish remembrances to the charity of ones choice would be appreciated by the family.
