It is with heavy hearts that we announce the untimely passing
of W. Dale Mallock at Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, June
19th 2024. Born in 1962, he was the son of Sheila and Roy Mallock of
Wilsons Beach, N.B.
Dale was a force to be reckoned with. Anyone who knew him
could attest to his boisterous, unapologetic and carefree personality,
love, and spirit. He was an avid storyteller, a passionate music
lover, and wildly family oriented. There aren't many words that
describe Dale that aren't a testament to his positive, and loving
nature.
He was a born traveller, from diving in San Diego, Grand
Cayman, and off the shores of Campobello. He later drove cross
country, settling roots in Victoria, British Columbia, where he
competed in bartending competitions, was a founding member of the
Victoria Bar and Restaurant Association, co owner of Sugar Nightclub,
Darcy's Pub, and Upstairs Cabaret. He then went on to manage the
largest pub in British Columbia, Match Eatery and Public House. He met
countless movie stars, rock stars, and models during his illustrious
career. In his later years, he settled back in New Brunswick, and made
a name of himself working small jobs, but talking through most of
them.
He is survived by his parents, Sheila and Roy Mallock of
Wilsons Beach, siblings, Kimberly (Burrell) Hatt of Chamcook and
Calvin (Laurie) Mallock of Wilsons Beach, children, Matthew Mallock of
Victoria, BC, and Hailey Mallock (Declan Seeley) of Wilsons Beach and
his beloved granddaughter, Claire Anthony of Wilsons Beach,
several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many cousins,
friends, and aunts.
Dale was predeceased by his grandparents, Calvin and Hilda
Tinker and Walton and Myrtle Mallock of Wilsons Beach. He is joining
his friends Blaine, Graham, Ronnie, Gary, Billy, Paul, and his beloved
dog, Jack in a long-awaited reunion.
Funeral service will be held at the Wilsons Beach Baptist
Church, Wilsons Beach, N.B. on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at 3 PM.
Interment to follow at Wilsons Beach Community
Cemetery.
