Ronald “Ron” W. Matchett

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ron W. Matchett, who passed away on June 12 at Wauklehegan Manor McAdam, NB, at the age of 70.

He will be remembered for the love he shared with his family, his quiet strength and the many memories he created with those who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all whose lives he touched.

Ron will be lovingly remembered by his devoted partner; Shelley Moffitt, son; Sean Matchett (Jenna), stepdaughter; Krissy Hood (Josh); stepson, Greg Hood (Natalie), brothers; Glen (Marilyn) and Greg Matchett all of Moncton NB, one brother-in-law; Kim Moffitt (Brenda) of McAdam NB, proud grandfather to Carter (Kaylee), Christopher (Emma), Vedder, and Cole, all of whom brought him immense joy and pride, Aunt Isabel of Edmonton AB, several nieces and nephews.

Ron was predeceased by his parents; Sterling and Helen Matchett.

Funeral service will be held from St George’s Anglican Church 53 Rockland Drive McAdam, NB on Saturday July 4, 2026, at 2 pm. There will be a Masonic Service held at the church at 1 pm, before the funeral service.

Family will receive friends in church hall following the funeral service.

Interment at the Rockland Cemetery, McAdam, NB at a later date.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Wauklehegan Manor for their care and compassion.

Though Ron is now no longer with us, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
