Polly A. Morin

1944 - 2026

It is with broken hearts, the family of Polly Morin announce her unexpected passing on Sunday April 26, 2026.

Born in 1944, during World War Two, in Bangor, Maine, third child to the late Morton “Jud” and Frances (Eagan) Files.

Raised in the nearby town of Pittsfield, Maine with her three siblings; brother Steve, older sister Nancy and younger sister Judith.

Polly had significant and deep connections to the Milltown, NB area with her mother being born and raised in Milltown. She spent many summers visiting her grandmother, “Gram” Eagan and socializing with her many cousins, aunts and uncles of the area.

In 1960, she moved back to Bangor, Maine with her family and graduated from John Baptist High School in 1962. She was later employed for several years at Bangor Hydro. In her early twenties she was well known for her MG convertible sports car and of course her personality.

Polly married Joe Morin of Milltown, NB in 1969 and the couple welcomed their two children; Jason and Sherry.

She was a prolific painter, focusing predominately on coastal scenes of Eastern Maine for her canvas work.

Years later she began painting intricate and detailed rock art, which were sold at The Pansy Patch in St Andrews, NB.

In retirement, Polly and her husband, Joe developed an interest in antiques and collectables, frequently visiting various estates and yard sales throughout Washington and Charlotte Counties.

She was an active member of the Milltown Catholic Church and CWL for many years.

Polly is survived by her two children; Dr. Jason Morin (Theresa) and daughter; Sherry Morin-Duffie, step-granddaughters; Emma, Abby and Ella, two sisters; Nancy Peters of Rochester, NY and Judith McKernan of Waterville, Maine, several nieces, nephews and other extended family.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband; Joe and her brother; Steve Files.

In keeping with Polly’s wishes, there will be no visitation.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
