It is with great sadness that the family of Abby L. MacMillan (Henderson) announces her unexpected passing on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.
Abby was born in St. Stephen, New Brunswick in 1987 to David and Terry MacMillan.
Graduating from St. Stephen High School in 2005, Abby was an avid athlete throughout her high school years. After graduating from NBCC in St. Andrews with her Certificate in Business Administration, she welcomed her sons Reid in 2008 and Riley in 2011. Those boys immediately became her pride, joy, and purpose of her life.
As a devoted mother to two young athletic boys, Abby spent her weekends at the ball diamond throughout the summer months and the rink in the winter. Always cheering on her boys both on the sidelines at games and in life, she was their rock.
Whenever she could, Abby took her boys fishing, which is a pastime she shared with her father David and grandmother Eleanor. Abby enjoyed spending time tending to her yard and garden, where her pumpkin patch became a landmark for a number of years. Her love of sunflowers and rare pumpkins paired with her eye for landscaping made the pumpkin patch a unique location that was both a festive attraction for autumn and a beautiful location for themed photoshoots.
While gift-giving was one of her favourite ways to show her affection, if she couldn’t find the perfect gift for someone, she would make it. She always had a new project on the go and was sure to share her beautiful creations with those around her. Her competitive nature that was once channelled into sports was transferred to her hobbies, helping her master anything she tried her hand at.
At gatherings, Abby could always be found having fun with the kids and always requested to be sat with them at dinner. Abby was always happiest when she got to go for a long drive with people she loved, listening to whatever music she was into that week. If given the choice, she would always pick the scenic route.
While she enjoyed the quiet her home afforded her, Abby was always just a phone call away if anyone needed her. She could always be counted on to make you feel seen and would always lend a helping hand to someone in need. She was an incredible friend to have and had so much love to give. Her kind heart also had a huge soft spot for animals of all shapes and sizes. From a young age, she always had a furry companion and could always find room for an animal who needed a home. Her dogs Tasha Mae and Lily miss her dearly.
Above it all, Abby loved spending her time with those she cared about most and making memories that we will cherish forever.
She will be greatly missed by her sons, Reid and Riley, parents, David and Terry, sister Emma (Bryan), brother Jason (Shaunalee), along with nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Abby will also be missed deeply by lifelong friends, and anyone else who had the privilege of being loved by her.
Abby was predeceased by grandparents James “Bud” and Eleanor (Rayner) MacMillan and George and Carol (Emery) Anderson.
A celebration of Abby’s life will be held at the Milltown Baptist Church, Milltown Blvd., St Stephen, N.B. on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at 11 AM.
For those who wish, donations in her memory may be made to the Charlotte County SPCA or a charity of one’s choice. Condolences may be sent to the family online at mehanfuneralhome.ca
