Brett A. Hemphill

It is with great sadness that the family of Brett Hemphill announces his passing at 31 years old on Friday, December 19, 2025.

Brett was born in 1994, in Woodstock, New Brunswick to Matthew and Courtney Hemphill.

The loss of Brett will be felt deeply by his wife, Emma Hemphill and son Soren Hemphill, his parents Matthew and Courtney Hemphill, siblings, Daemen and Cassy Hemphill, his grandmothers Betty Lou Hemphill and Sandra Lewis, and his many uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Brett was predeceased by his grandfathers Aubrey Dorcas and Donald Hemphill.

He graduated from John Caldwell School in Grand Falls, New Brunswick in 2012. Brett met his love Emma at university in 2016. They moved to Peace River, Alberta, where they began their careers. In 2022, they had their son and were married on the Smoky River.

Brett enjoyed his career as a telecommunications technician first in Peace River, Alberta with TELUS and later in St. Stephen, New Brunswick with Bell Canada. He was spoken fondly of by customers and always took the time to make sure that they were well taken care of.

Brett was known for his witty one liners and hearty laugh. He loved gifting and was known to be able to find the perfect gift for family and friends. Brett loved music, and his home always had a variety of genres playing in the background.

An avid golfer and lover of technology, he was happiest when spending the day on course or trying out a new gadget. Above all else, he cherished time with his family, finding his greatest happiness in their company and leaving behind countless memories that will be cherished forever.

Brett, you will forever be missed.

A celebration of life will be held at the St. Stephen Legion, 43 Queen Street, W., St. Stephen, N.B.  on Tuesday, December 30^th starting at 1pm.
