Jordon T. Moffitt

1986 - 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we share the sudden death of Jordon T. Moffitt at the age of 39 in McAdam, New Brunswick.

Jordon was born in Inuvik, NWT, the son of Paul and Pertice Moffitt.

He grew up in Yellowknife where he played hockey and swam competitively, representing the territory at the Canada Summer Games and numerous provincial competitions.

Jordon was an excellent builder and liked working with his hands; he worked in construction, home building supply, as well as tree cutting.

He spent most of his summers at his family’s camp up lake where he regularly trounced his family at monopoly, told the scariest stories, and much to his sister’s horror, successfully fished eels. He was happiest outdoors, working on the land, hunting, and fishing and cherished his time learning from Dene Elders.

Jordon was gregarious and warm, quick with a joke and often the first to seek connection and friendship with everyone that he met.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister; Morgan Moffitt (David Buchanan), nephews, Beric and Griffin Buchanan, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 19th at 2:00 PM at the St. Paul’s United Church,155 Saunders Road, McAdam, NB.

Jordon cared deeply about people and his community, completing courses in social work at Aurora College and strongly advocating for the safety and security of all. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Yellowknife Tree of Peace.  Condolences may be sent to the family online at mehanfuneralhome.ca
