Janette E. Lord

1951 - 2025

It is with broken hearts, the family announce the unexpected passing of our Mom, Janette E. Lord of Oak Bay, NB. at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday August 10, 2025.

Mom was a selfless woman who often looked out for others more than herself. She was always lending a helping hand whether to run errands, driving friends to their appointments, donating for the next community event, attending bingo halls or caring for her fur babies.

A devoted wife, loving mother and best friend, spending time with her children, grandchildren, siblings and large extended Buchanan, Kelson and Lord families were cherished times too.

Mom was a long-time resident of Charlotte County where she was employed for the province doing custodial work.

She spent many of her evenings sitting in her rocking chair knitting and planning her next day, whether it was working in her garden or attending yard sales to find unique treasures for next to nothing or a bag of yarn. She got great enjoyment going to music, either at the Stella Maris Hall or taking the camper to the Rogersville Festival, with her friend, Jack.

She is survived by her children; Peter Cusack, Lisa Cusack, grandchildren; Nicholas, William and Jacob, step-grandchildren; Andrew, Zack, Aileen, Nikki and Eric, sisters; Bonnie Miranda (Joe) and Tracey Muxworthy, brother-in-law; Charles Golding, several nieces, nephews, cousins and the Buchanan, Kelson and Lord families. She also had many friends and will be sadly missed by all especially her best friend Susan.

In addition to her parents George and Joanne Buchanan, stepmother, Beatrice Buchanan, she was predeceased by her husband Cecil in 2013, siblings, Raymond Buchanan, Patricia Buchanan, Heather Golding and Kevin Buchanan.

In keeping with Mom’s wishes; there will be a graveside service on Saturday August 16, 2025, at 1 PM at the Rolling Dam United Church Cemetery, 374 Rolling Dam Road, Rolling Dam, NB.

Donations in Mom’s memory can be made to Charlotte County Cancer Society, NB Heart and Stroke or a charity of one’s choice.  Condolences my be sent to the family online at mehanfuneralhome.ca
